Happy New Year from Catalina Island at the Avalon Casino (complete with live big band and swing dancers on the ball room and a ton of balloons dropped on the head at midnight).
An image I was able to pick up along with the story of where it came from. In 1975 my Mother bought a Calendar by Milton Glasser of images he created in honor of his friend Herman Hesse. She framed a few of the images, this one above I inherited. Happily this will go on the wall in my new flat in Oslo, along with the original 1975 calendar that I found.
There are large chimes here and a fire pit to sit around in the evenings while sipping wine and listening to the beautiful music they make. A very relaxing place.
If you recognize this location then you are one of the few humans on this earth to have had the good fortune to visit such a magical place.
